چکیده

We studied flow rate, electrolytes effects, titanium dioxide separation and reuse and sunlight application on photocatalysis in a tubular photoreactor integrated with the titanium dioxide separation/reuse. The circulative flow treatment was preferred over the single pass treatment. Phenol and TOC removals in tap and deionized waters were a maximum at the circulative flow rate of 600 ml min and the transmittance of 0.26%. At low flow rate, titanium dioxide particles were sedimented in tap water, but those were perfectly suspended in deionized water. The titanium dioxide slurry was sedimented spontaneously by standing and was repeatedly reused without decreasing the degradation efficiency.

Degradation of Phenol in Water by Titanium Dioxide Photocatalysis

The photocatalytic degradation of phenol in a static-batch photoreactor, using a UV lamp as a light source and TiO 2 as a photocatalyst, was investigated. The effects of various parameters, such as photocatalyst dosage, initial substrate concentration, reaction pH and addition of oxidants, on the phenol degradation rate of TiO 2 photocatalysis were examined. The degradation rates proved to be s...

Macrolide antibiotics removal using a circulating TiO2-coated paper photoreactor: parametric study and hydrodynamic flow characterization.

The present work investigates the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of biorecalcitrant macrolide antibiotics in a circulating tubular photoreactor. As target pollutants, spiramycin (SPM) and tylosin (TYL) were considered in this study. The photoreactor leads to the use of an immobilized titanium dioxide on non-woven paper under artificial UV-lamp irradiation. Maximum removal efficiency was ...

Removal of Natural Organic Matter Using Uvc/tio2 Photocatalysis Process Coupled with Coagulation Treatment

The use of standalone titanium dioxide (TiO2) photocatalytic treatment and one that is combined with coagulation process to treat natural organic matter (NOM) from two different water sources (synthetic water containing 10 ppm of humic acid and water samples sourced from Myponga reservoir) is investigated herein. In the combined process, the water samples were treated with a novel composite coa...
